Suede 是一支来自伦敦的英国另类摇滚乐队，成立于 1989 年。该乐队最著名的早期阵容包括歌手 Brett Anderson、吉他手 Bernard Butler、贝斯手 Mat Osman 和鼓手 Simon Gilbert。到 1992 年，Suede 被誉为“英国最好的新乐队”，并引起了英国音乐媒体的广泛关注。次年，他们以华丽摇滚为灵感的首张专辑《Suede》登上排行榜榜首，成为近十年来销量最快的首张专辑，并获得了 Mercury 音乐奖，帮助启动了英国流行音乐运动。然而，乐队华丽的后续作品 Dog Man Star （1994） 让 Suede 与他们的 Britpop 同行保持距离。虽然它通常被认为是乐队的杰作，但 Dog Man Star 的录音过程充满了困难，最终以巴特勒在与安德森激烈争论后离开乐队而告终。
